About Rose Bilal

Rose Bilal, hails from Newark, N.J.-by way of Philadelphia-and has called Tampa, Florida home since 1969. Her professional resume starts in Philadelphia, one of America's best music towns. Throughout the 1960s Bilal was at the heart of the music scene. She worked with some of the greats: The O'Jays, The Delphonics, Wilson Pickett, Chubby Checker, and Gladys Knight and The Pips.

A higher force drives Rose Bilal. This is evident in her unique talent and abilities as a jazz vocalist, actor, visual artist, author, and motivational speaker. Her theater experience with the likes of StageWorks, American Stage, Carrollwood Playhouse, and other venues in the Tampa area has given her the confidence and ability to connect with her audience and engage them in her performance. She has written her biography Don't Blame The Road, sharing her life story.

As a motivational speaker she motivates women and young girls to excellence while touring the countryside with Powerstories Theater. Bilal has spent the past decade exploring jazz classics and becoming one of the Tampa area's best known singers. Her vocal stylings of legendary greats such as Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, and Ella Fitzgerald help keep alive the heartfelt message of jazz music of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s. In November of 2004 Rose founded Jazztorian, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving classic jazz as a rare and valuable American Treasure.
